Project goal

After the deployment of Identity Manager and its operation, there was a need to manage user roles in addition to identities. This was due to the large number of systems and users, and thus the multiple roles that needed to be consolidated and managed in some way.

The aim of the project was to select a suitable tool, analyse the possibilities of integration into the current infrastructure and deploy it. Another equally important requirement was the integration to the existing Identity Manager.

Project description

The subject of the project was the selection of a role management tool, feasibility study, actual deployment and user customization.

  • In the first phase, we based on our knowledge of the environment and our own experience with the development of Identity Manager, and therefore we were able to present the customer with the optimal solution to meet their requirements.
  • Next, a basic installation was performed on a test environment and the usability of the tool was verified in greater detail, including the possibility of custom modifications.
  • The product was then installed in the client’s environment and connected to Identity Manager, which became the authoritative data source for the new Role Manager.

The actual deployment was supplemented with client customizations to ensure that the product was in line with the company’s processes and policies.

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, the project brought a new concept of business roles that group application roles together, further simplifying the work with roles in general.
